Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any opinions about completely removing the EGR system from their car? I think my E39 is showing signs of a EGR thermostat failure. Car doesn't warm for ages, then if I'm cruising on motorways it can drop a back down to the 1/4 mark. Any research I've found.

EGR is good for engine warmup. There's less metal and bearing wear when oil is warm. Coldstarts are where engines wear the most.
